ok so new to all this, but when i see people say they did Manchester to Blackpool or city a to city b etc

how do you all get back home?

Some ride back
some get trains back
some get picked up in a car

In the case of Manchester to Blackpool the organisers put on transport to get you from Blackpool to Manchester either a) before the event or b) after the event.

OR

you could do what some did last year and park in Manchester - ride the sportive to Blackpool - and then ride the course in reverse for fun!!

This is where you have to convince someone it is a great idea to get up and stupid o clock in the morning , drive you to the start , then be at the finish to meet you and get you back home.
Or as Square Daff says , ride there and back. (I did that last year)
Or do what I did this year , drove to the finish the day before , had a good day out and then got the train back leaving the car half a mile from the finish with a fresh set of clothes in the boot.

Or the best option ,,, quite a lot of Sportives do a loop ie Manchester 100, so you park up , ride the ride and then drive back home (and for those who will say "ride to and from the start", it depends on the distance you live from the start)
