Sports/Cycling Glasses Users - advise please

I've got a pair of Rudy Project Rydon 1 Cycling glasses. The lenses I have in the glasses are now quite scratched after a number of years use.

I need to get some new lenses. I would like to buy them on-line at a reasonable price. I don't mind getting them from a sports/cycling web site or even a web site that just sells glasses.

But I need some advise on a site I can trust. Can you recommend a good site where you got your glasses from.

Many thanks

oakley

I've just got some and i really like them. the lenses do seem to deal with water quite well.
But i got them on the recommendation of a mate who says oakley have really good customer service and have just replaced lenses no questions asked in the past.
They are dear though - you probably won't find any much less than about 70 or 80 quid (genuine ones anyway, beware of fakes - don't use ebay, buy from approved stockist only), but one case where i think you do get what you pay for. Go on the oakley site and follow the 'approved stockists' (or similar) link.

You could try sending the lenses back to rudy project and see if they'll send you some new ones. No harm in trying, they can only say no

How do these Prescription Clips work ? Im thinking of investing in some Glasses for cycling as my day to day one's are not really up for the job.

You need a chat with Steve at Active Eyes in Radcliffe, Greater Manchester. Steve is establishing a bit of a reputation as the optician who goes further than most with difficult sports eyewear projects, even the reps from Rudy Project, Bollé etc are bringing their most curved frames in for him to glaze. He did me some very curved Rudys, waaaaay beyond what most opticians will undertake and they are pretty good - sharp vision although inevitably a bit distorted around the edges. His prices are also excellent as he owns the business and runs it with family help. I got the Rudys in a varifocal lens and some regular rimless glasses and I'm delighted.

Do you know if Steve has a web site or a contact email address?

AAAARGH! Disaster! Rang that number to be told that Steve has sold out to Yates & Suddell, his former employers. Will go down to the shop at lunch time to check if this is true and am emailing the Rudy Project sales manager to find out is he knows where Steve has gone. Will report back here.

I wore a pair I picked up cheap in the winter and although I liked them, I found the frame blocked my vision when looking behind me, put me off them a bit

The inserts sit just behind the glasses. I found them highly uncomfortable and my local opticians couldn't get the lenses right for my eyes.

In the end my LOpShop did a deal with OptiLabs.co.uk and got me some glazed cycling glasses, which are neat.
