I'd thought about this, being a lifelong glasses wearer. There seems to be a wide range of things classed as smart glasses from simple frames with headphones to full on 3D gaming gear, another way of using your mobile phone, to a full blown wearable computer. If you're a tech geek prepared to spend large amounts on gadgets which are at present constantly developing, and therefore perhaps being updated and superseded quite frequently, maybe it's for you. It's an attractive idea to have a map display in your specs that you can see while riding or walking about, for example.
At present, until the the systems become more standardised, affordable and mainstream, not for me. I still haven't had a satisfactory solution to the problem of being a full time glasses wearer who would need to have a new pair every 1-2 years due to wear and tear or prescription changes, and how that would fit in to the needs for specialised lenses that would work with the display.
There is also a lot of hype about these things which makes it not so easy to get the facts on line. Perhaps a visit to somewhere like Currys might be helpful to get some background, though maybe they're as much about shifting product as anything else.
