I use this http://sportypal.com/Home its free and I've found using its easy. You can share the (gpx) files of your rides with your mates who didn't go via Email and Google Earth

Use SportsTracker on an E71. Very good for doing just that, tracking where you've been, some good stat. Very easy to use, just start it and let it run, upload to site is quick and some useful functions. Not tried to use it as a route guide personally but been out with someone who did and it wasn't that good.
Will have to see what developments there are now that its been dropped from Nokia.

I have just downloaded the new SportyPal PRo, from the android market, for everyone that has android phone, i would recommend this.
Now it can saves the track that you want to ride on from the web and than download them to the phone, for navigation and etc..

I use MayMyRide for my iPhone 4 which is made my mapmyride.com.

Great little app.
