Having bought a new bike 10 days ago fitted with Sram Force, I gave it a thorough clean yesterday after riding 150+ miles on rather grubby roads. On cleaning the drivetrain I noticed that some of the teeth of the large chainring appear to be 'chipped' & have the tips missing

However after speaking to a friend he says that some chain rings are designed like that to give better shifting & looking at this pic

online I'm thinking he could be right
Anyone else running Sram Force & can they confirm that this is normal before I ring up Planet X & embarrass myself

Your friend is correct, the teeth are fine.

Check your cassette teeth, too, if the chain has damaged the chainring this badly. I bet they're buggered, too ;)

Cheers @rusty bearing, the piece of mind I wanted. I've cleaned everything & the cassette is fine.I gave it another look over today & although the teeth are a different 'shape' they dont actually look like they have been broken, too uniform. Bit of a worry yesterday though
