Any meaningful difference between these 3 chains or is it just best to buy the cheapest one?

No recommendations for other manufacturers please - have been using SRAM for years and perfectly happy with them.

Probably not!

I buy SRAM 9 and 10 speed chains. I usually buy the mid-price ones but if money is tight I get the cheapest ones and have never had any problems.

In my experience they're made to the same basic standard. The difference is the finishing - some look nicer and may be lighter, but in the real world for a normal cyclist, the cheaper ones are just as good in their shifting and durability.

It's down to the plating usually. The cheaper ones may be black and the more expensive will be silver coloured.

Some are lighter but that's when the cost starts.

Thanks folks.

The difference sounds purely cosmetic to me then.

So i think i will be going for the pc830.

Currently very keenly priced at chain reaction.

Should go fine with my new old favourite bike, just upgraded it from 7 to 8 speed
