Thor didn't have a chance. Did you see how Cav just jumped ahead as soon as Thor arrived at his side. Brilliant - what a machine. Same tomorrow?

brilliant. They interrupted the radio programme to broadcast the finish. If he came from anywhere near Gordon Brown's constituency it would be Sir Mark Cavendish.

Cav was playing mind games -gave Thor a start, dropped down a gear and off he went. Never saw Cipo do that -but then the competition was a bit stronger.

It was a good finish, thought it was a good effort from Milram to un-seat Columbia from the front.

thour went early and paid the price, he was going for the win and not to protect the green jersy
He'd failed to read his road book, and thought the finish was only half as steep as it actually was.

we though it was about 2-3% rise

30m in the last 500m = 6%

Agreed. And I think we'll see more of it. Teams are openly talking about it as being the only way to give their sprinters a chance. Garmin have tried too. It could even get a bit, um, 'robust'!

Actually, come think of it, didn't a Cervelo/Saxo get in the train at one stage yesterday?

columbia are running that good of a train the i think the other sprinter wont bother with one, and just sit on cavs wheel like yesterday, maybe a good tactic if they had the men would be to put a man actualy behind cav in the train, just to protect the wheel...
