Hooray, spotted my first backwards forks 'in the wild' today. They'd even swapped the reflector so it was back to facing the front again!!!

Find myself nosing at passing MTB's now if I'm out and about, I'm sure the people on them think I'm wierd.

I hope you chased after the rider and told them? I did when I spotted mine, I even set the forks right for the girl. She tome me her boyfriend had built the bike.

I tried to but unfortunately I was picking my 5 year old up from school, and the chaos of the schoolyard meant I couldn't get to them by the time they'd rode off. I'll try and collar them tomorrow

Probably not worth the hassle. I felt the need to offer my assistance to a fellow cyclist a few weeks ago as she seemed to have a badly adjusted front derailleur and had overshifted past the big ring and was clearly struggling to get it back on. I stopped and offered to help and got told to **** off so I do wonder if I should bother offering to help again.

Do bother - I haven't yet had a 'terminal' breakdown, but I wouldn't like to think people wouldn't volunteer to help in case they got an earful! If I was managing to fix it myself I'd say so, politely, and thank the person for offering assistance.

With hindsight(sic) perhaps telling her that her large ring looked out of shape while she was bent over wasn't the best choice of words?

Splendid!

I often find myself wanting to tell people that their saddles are too low, or their tyres need pumping up.
