Starting a conversation

I am attempting to start a private conversation with a member , there username doesn't appear in the drop down list and when I type it in and go to start the message the recipients name disappears ? Any ideas

Figured it had to find them in a members search and start conversation direct from there

Shouldn't happen but I have had the same on occasion.

Cause unknown!

At least you have managed a workaround.

The member lookup thing can be a bit wonky. ISTR people having similar problems tagging people in posts.
