I Know south wales vaguely - doing those speeds in Manchester I would be impressed!

How is the comfort compared to your MTB? I am looking at moving to road bike from hybrid, and thinking about aches/pains due to new position.

My shoulders ache a bit. The saddle on the bike is comparative to that on my MTB. Getting used to a different braking position is hardest I think.

Cheers, I am considering that bike also! Does it have STI shifters? I cant see handlebar shifters....

It has an SIS shifter on the flats for rear and a friction shifter of front. Some version still have DT shifters.

I noticed that when looking at them, same price too, but i'd prefer them on the flats so have to be careful where buying from, cheers!

MY first road bike aged 10 was a "viking warlord " Bought from terrys cycles in yate for £99.00 by my old man

i think terrys cycles is still open for business but the "Warlord" sadly is no more .Thirty years ago that mind

My first and only other roadbike was a Coventry Eagle - Red Dragon. I paid about the same price iirc around 27 years ago

I usually do a decent enough mileage per week, but have been slacking recently so in the two weeks before reading this thread had done an embarrassing 23 miles.

Since reading the thread, I've done 56 miles in the last two days. result!
