It's all about the gear. I know it seems like an expense but if you get warm leggings, a cosy jacket, a decent pair of gloves and overshoes if you use clipless pedals, then you're on to a winner. I doesn't matter what the weather says, if you're prepared then you'll be fine.

It's the leaves on the corners of the road that scare me

I'm all for hardiness, but last night was just crushingly miserable. Freezing cold, dark, and torrential rain.

Add to that list a climb and a head wind and you have my week sussed. It's been pretty grim up north this week. I have given up trying to get my socks dry during the day and just accept the fact they'll be wet again within 5 minutes of the journey anyway.

The rain itself is bearable but I think the weather brings out the worst in drivers, I've had two incidents of driver rage this week and I think its mostly down to the weather. The gutters are overflowing so you have to cycle more in primary and they just don't like it. A truck beeped me yesterday because he couldn't get past. He only had 100 metres before he was going ot join the motorway!

I noticed that earlier this week; it's been pretty dry down here in the South East for much of the year and it's only lately started to get wet again so I'd sort of forgotten what it could be like.

Anyway, I was walking at lunchtime and I noticed that there seemed to be more crazies about than normal. Are they scared their car will melt or are they trying to get home quick before they have an accident?

nice one mate. You can also bulk load your previous miles direct to Cyclogs admin to load up.

Hi Ian, I've just got into the cyclogs thing too and the bulk upload doesnt seem to be doing the "upload" bit...maybe I've done something wrong:blush:

Kevin, +1 on the fair weather its defo getting quieter on the roads...I'm trying not to become a victim of this myself by upping my effort and joining cyclogs etc...all helps to keep me motivated...(especially with a motorcycle at either end of my route calling "jooooony" every time I get set to go home)

Also congrats on the Mileage...number two slot in the "elite members enclosure" if I recall?
