There's been a few comments like that but I've slipped over walking more than cycling.

And my last cycling ice fall was on a road that had been gritted.

That's true I've still been slipping and sliding along just walking with the bike but I'd rather fall on my feet than off the bike! Go's to show even gritted roads can still be dodgy when it's that cold hope you weren't hurt?

That's what I thought as well, having not been in a gym for 15 years+. Since moving here we joined the gym as it's within walking distance and has a very nice pool

The gym machines all have an iPod dock, a connector for USB Flash drives, so you can bring your own music. Also there is a choice of about 10 tv channels, 20+ radio stations, games, the internet, and of course you can actually use the machine without any of this stuff at all ^_^

I try and listen to music , but in some parts of the gym the in-house music drowns out what I'm listening to. Anyone recommend some good headphones?

JVC XX if you want cheap but powerful earbuds - I think it was a recent thread here or on CTC where they were suggested. Try a search.

Those of you who are gym cycling, do you teleport there? Driving tonnes of car on these icy roads seems a heck of a lot riskier than riding a bike! A house in the next borough was demolished earlier today and I won't be at all surprised if ice turns out to have been a factor.
