I wouldn't imagine that the 26/25.4 difference would be an issue with an ahead stem like that as the bolts on the face plate take up the slack . If you were fitting it to a mountain bike for off roading then I might be a little worried about the clamp ovaling the bar it was clamped onto slightly, but IME I've been able to switch between the two on road bikes without any issues.
