oh for sure, and I bet he gets stick every day of the week when someone thinks they are being "clever" in testing him out.

I won't defend the actions, but I feel jumping up and down shouting "thug" is daft.
I dont know the bloke, but he seems very much the family man and keeps himself to himself.

I once hit a lad at school, in my younger days, he was winding me up, wouldn't let it drop, got in my face so I ended it. I guess I am a thug too.

I agree, the abuse they get when venturing out in the evenings will be more than any of us could understand. He is a public figure and should (although most of the time arguably he does) behave better and there is no excusing violence, but he is human after all. None of us were there so none of us will know what happened off CCTV in the build up to the event.

Personally I have never hit anyone that didn't hit me first, however many people will throw the first punch as a knee jerk reaction to threatening behaviour (to end an argument before it gets worse), its human nature and we all react differently.

Lots of step ladders out with people climbing onto their high horses here to judge someone me thinks.

found not guilty!

There's a shock eh!

When will they not just start jailing these peanuts.

So now it's acceptable for him to try and rule a pub and when he doesn't get his way beat the staff up.

Great footballer but a tosser all the same

I don't know why they don't end trial by jury and just let people decide on people's guilt or otherwise by what they are shown on TV or in newspapers. After all, you know more than that jury, don't you mate?

Hahahaha, as the most avowed Liverpool supporter on the forum, why am I not surprised by that?

I had a little bet with myself how long it'd be before you showed your hand. Have you got anything to say on the case itself or are you just being your malevolent self?

Pity really. I had a lot of respect for Gerard previously. I have absolutely none now. It's clear to me he was pissed and hit the guy with malice in cohorts with his friends. Not the sort of behaviour, even in self defence, you expect from someone with such a high public profile. It doesn't really matter what the jury said. People will make up their own minds.

he actually said he did, but what we dont know is the ins and outs of a cats arse regarding the manc that is Mcgee...

without knowing that I think we can't be judge, jury or executioner.

the jury heard both and gave the nod to Gerrard, even though he said he hit hit McGee 2 or three times.

anyway, when it comes down to it, as said before, this kinda stuff happens every night of the week in every town and city in the UK, and what a waste of money and resource that it got that far.
What next? Jay walkers in the dock?

Did you win the bet?

Imagine if we ever met, we've had our difficult times, so as I walk up to you to say 'Hey Paul, lets bury the hachet', you raise your hands. In response to this I chin you several times and to make sure you don't get away I hold the back of your shirt for good measure. Would you spend the evening reflecting on how daft you had been, or would you call the police?

You chin me:rolleyes:. Do you spend a lot of time imagining that actually happened?

The fact is, Steven Gerrard was tried in a court of law and found not guilty by a jury of his peers. You'll have to deal with it or take your anger out on the wind. The fact it offends an agenda-driven troll like yourself is just an added bonus. A bit like getting a late goal when your team's already got the game good and won, if you will.

Sorry, but AFAIC he's no different to the rest of society when it comes to justice.

He (like a LOT of people in this country) is not willing to accept responsibility for his actions and admit guilt.

This sends a powerful message out to people that all they have to do is deny it and they'll get away with it.

Honesty seems to be a personal life value that is missing.

This Gerard person is the same one that together with team mates condemned the murder of Rhys Jones in Liverpool, but acts like a common thug and denys any wrong-doing?

HYPOCRITE.

Either way Gerrard should have known better.

Why? Because he gets £100 grand a week he should know better?

We've all had our bad nights where we have made a fool of ourselves at least I have.

But unlike you, he has gone to CC with it (a case that should have ended in Mags), has costed the taxpayer thousands, all because he hit someone (CCTV) and decided he is above the law and doesn't have to accept responsibility for his actions.

And he got away with it.

Nowhere in the media is there an allegation that he was hit first (which would have meant he was justified in self defence), and the CCTV shows his mate elbowing the bloke, before Gerard in inimitable celebrity fashion joins in, knowing a group of mates will bail him out if he starts to come off worse, just like the Gallaghers and Jay Kay.

And now our PATHETIC judiciary have rubber stamped his violence as being ok.
