I've effectively been housebound by having cellulitis since the the start of the month. Today sees me start the fourth week on antibiotics and pain killers. My GP has not ruled out a return to hospital for further IV antibiotics and that decision will be made in a week's time.

It's been so frustrating looking out of the window and seeing some great cycling weather and being unable to to take advantage of it.

I'm pining for pie but can't stand up long enough to make one before the pain makes standing unbearable. Omelettes are at the limit of my pain endurance envelope

I've missed out on two gigs: Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain and Curved Air

On the positive side:

• I have been excused housework and cooking.
  
• I've explored the transport options to get me to Passau and back from Budapest for net year's tour - I'll be using conventional trains, sleeper trains, ferries, and a hydrofoil the transport package is nearly as exciting as the tour
  
• I suspect that I have lost some weight. There's been a marked decrease in my calorie intake but this is countered by my inactivity.

But to summarise;

I've coveted one of those ever since I saw one as a kid. It looked like a wicker bath chair with hand cranks on a tiller arm and it looked ever so elegant as its owner propelled it along.

As my current n+1 strategy is targeting a very desirable Woodrup product the hand bike must remain an aspirational addition to the collection.

*A digression. Tall bar stools always make think of a Babar story, where there's a sort of animal World Fair, and the giraffe pavillion has very tall tables and bar stools for them to sit on and drink coffee.

I saw them last year and had a front row ticket for their York gig that I purchased in January.

They are great and I'm really cheesed off that I couldn't get to see them.

Even if there was I don't have any cellulite to infect.
