Watch the buggers gentlemen in the front row; failing to bind and driving in at the side. ;)

I'm told the Icebars are interesting.

Lucky it will an expenses covered trip (or I would be looking to sell the house first!)

Well if you have time there's Gamlastan (old town), the royal palace, the national gallery is FAB plus if you can get to Djurgarden there's Skansen, the Vasa Musee (well worth a visit IMO) plus loads of other places to go there. Although all of these won't leave you much time for refereeing. Sveavagen is good for the Hard Rock Cafe, The Observatory and the Anchor Pub.

:becool:

I should do after living there for 14 years!

There is a LOT to see, especially over a weekend!

Have a look at Gamla Stan (the Old Town), Djurgarden, a boat trip out into and around the archipelago (there are over 24,000 island in the Stockholm archipelago), Sodermalm (a cool area south of the city, Vasa Museum (a bit like the Mary Rose, but FAR more impressive), the Botanical Gardens, Natural History museum, Grona Lund (fairground), any of the numerous palaces (if that's your thing) and lots more.

Failing that, have a look at this guide:

Enjoy yourself!

good list  ... went there a few years back with my mate ( who was visiting his mothers in laws).. had a great ( though pricey) time ( we stayed here , http://www.langholmen.com/en/Hostel/AboutHostel.aspx where those nice swedes were still locking up 'naughty' women in the 70's)

we went to the museum with the gold exhibition in it ( national antiquities museum) .... ( as well as pretty much all those places on the list,, though the wolverines were hiding when we went to skansen  )

the gold was amazing, also i loved the way the guide kept explaining how it's the norwegian vikings who do all the raping and pillaging,, the swedish vikings were nice and just explored and traded.............. yeah mate ;)

though if you're on a rugger weekend,, then gamla stan had a load of pretty good pubs

Gamla Stan is nice but will be heaving with tourists. Duck off the main two streets and it's much quieter and nicer. If you can get there before the coach tours arrive so much the better.

Vasa is also worth seeing.
