Was nasty here coming home - wind and bitter cold rain and the sewers were unable to cope so the road surface was flooded.

That's when you are officially 'hard'...... love it when things go that bad - you are climbing a hill that resembles a river.....

Funny thing is, our council have just done an article about clearing drains, how hard they work etc, in the local paper........ yeh.....right......flooded everywhere.........

Totally drenched riding back at 1:00 yesterday lunchtime, and it's getting going again now. Presumably it'll get to you people further north and east later.

The forecast doesn't look good for the weekend either.

I got that soaking an hour later in Bristol ... and a local weather recording station reckoned the rain fall rate was 90 mm/hr.

Yesterday (Fri) was better than expected for me - just damp and breezy, but by the time Mr Summerdays was coming home he found it very difficult at times. Then last night at 2am it we were woken by the rain and wind.

Now it all seems fairly calm (breezy but no more) - whereas they were warning about gale force winds at this time on the local news - perhaps that is still to come.

I manged to dodge the worst downpours yesterday so managed to extend my commute. The wind started to pick up a bit on the last leg.
Just looked outside and there's a big blue patch of sky at the moment, but some very wet looking clouds approaching from the west. So i'm off out to the stables then get a few miles in before the gales hit.

I went shopping this morning when there appeared to be a break in the weather. It was nice and fine and the satellite images looked like it might lay off for a while. On the way back the heavens opened and soaked me thru.

I went out to run some errands this afternoon when there appeared to be another lull in the weather. Once bitten twice shy, I wore the full set of outers. Weather remained settled and I came home soaking from overheating.
