Strada RIP

[mumbo jumbo]

I am in mourning. About 8pm last night, on my commute home, my Exposure Strada light somehow fell off. There was no way I could safely retrieve it and I watched helplessly as it was run over by a car and a double decker bus.

Credit to the manufacturers, the light still works - but time to replace I think!! What precious bike paraphernalia have you watched being destroyed by traffic?

It is almost inevitable that if a light falls off your bike it will be run over by a number of vehicles.

I have lostl count of the number of tail lights that have fallen of my bike over the years. I now use multiple cable ties to secure them. The next most frequent item is water bottles.

Had a tail light come off a few weeks back, it was in bits and spread across the road. Miraculously none of the parts got run over, and when I reassembled it everything worked!

I always ensure that my lights and bits are always securely in their sockets as to make sure that things like this dont happen.

This is why I don't tie expensive things to my handlebars. I've seen far too many computers bounce down the road...

Parts fail, bits fall off. Doesn't matter how many times you check.

That's a lot of light ! I tend to go cheap and cheerful. I have had a pair of Tesco cheapest for ages. I just can't pull the trigger on the expensive ones. Bad luck

I used to have (and probably do somewhere archived) a video of my GoPro leaping off my handlebar, somersaulting down the road and the underside of dozen cars

Housing was FUBAR but the camera itself works to this day
