Brackets still snap. Lost 2 RSP Astrums - the clips on the light snapped off the light, leaving the clip in the bracket, the light squashed. Also lost a Cateye front light - snapped and bounced. Also lost 1 Superflash - again clip snapped.

I have lost the 705 once in traffic (grubby mount) caused it to pop off. Never have I slammed on so fast and jumped off and ran back to the unit - fortunately the cars stopped. Would have been very expensive.

I lost my house/ and car keys once...they were in my saddlebag which I had not zipped up, then I went over a pothole, they jumped out without me realising. When I got to work 8 miles later, I realised my keys were gone...traced my path back and managed to find them! This was on a major road and the keys had been squashed and embedded into the tarmac. The car key was significantly bent but amazing it still worked!!!

I thought all exposure stuff came with a lanyard to attach as well - certainly the 2 we have in this household do... that way if it comes off the mounting it is left hanging from the bars - OK it promptly hits you on the knee or shin but... or was this "user error"?:whistle:

Just an aside to things falling off, way back when! on Barnet bypass one summers day I was giving my trike some lick when I was given the usual 'can't ride a two wheeler then type!' comment from a passenger leaning out of the nearside window of the passing xr2 type motor. As he shouted his very original abuse his sunglasses flew off his head and directly into the path of my front wheel (crunch whoops:laugh: ) a second later He is running down the side of the road and says to me I lost my raybans. I love natural justice:biggrin:

Just a little story from my past that always makes me smile.

Having just brought an expensive Exposure light I am interested to know how it come off. Is it a case of double check to see if you've got it clipped on correctly or was there a mechanical failure?

I have =told them the story and asked about helping with a replacement. I'll post to say what happens.

If the replacement comes with a lanyard, I'll know to use it!

The mechanism on the bracket had become a teeny bit stiff over recent weeks but I never felt there was a risk of the light coming off. Note the advice elsewhere about using a lanyard!
