Thanks to those that assisted me in avoiding 'that' second hand bike in my last thread -

Have now decided to buy a new bike up to £350 - I know it isn't a massive amount of money for a new bike, but given this is possibly going to only be my fourth biggest hobby - I need to be sensible.

I am reasonably fit - and likely to ride 2-3 times a week after work - about 10 miles each time on a mountain bike.

Given what I've written I don't see a great deal of difference in any of the three here - and may just take the easy option of the cheapest - I won't/cannot be talked into a 'better' spec second hand bike, not can I realistically spend any more than £350.

So - Any reasons I should get or avoid any of the following please:

Triban 500SE £330

Triban 500 £280

Triban 300 £250 (white)

Carrera TDF - halfords..?! £299

Any assistance greatly appreciated -

My choice would be the Triban 500SE, i tried one riding around Decathlon while i was waiting for my Triban 3 to have it's free service some time back, I found it a very comfortable and felt better than my own Triban, probably due to set up though as it was the same size as mine (54),

Edit, It also has carbon forks.

The Merlin pr7 is also in your price range, it was very well received when introduced last year (mind you it was £50 cheaper then!)
