Strange experience over the weekend.

I did a bit of maintenance, adjusted brakes, gears ,change tyres and tubes on my old Pioneer, usual stuff.

Then rode it on the drive, just to check it out and at first I was wobbling everywhere ,as if I'd lost my sense of balance.

Happened with another bike later on too.

Don't think it's an inner ear problem. Not dizzy etc. It was if I was reacting too quickly and over compensating on the handlebars, like when you reverse a car and move the steering wheel too much.

I have six monthly check ups at the docs and coincidentally had a basic check up today all seems ok.

I'll go for a little ride tonight .

Not sure what was going on, a bit scary, hope I don't need stabilizers.

Cycling soon finds hidden ailments, weaknesses etc.
Your balance is probably off, a little light headed perhaps without realising it, a tad under the weather ? I've known days where I set out to do a 50, felt fine but within 5 miles turned round and gave up...it just wasn't there. Usually within hours or days, I've come down with something. The ride just exposes the hidden problem.
The opposite end of the scale are those super rare days when you go out and feel titanic, like you could conquer the alps, ride like the wind and hardly break a sweat.
Sadly those days are super super rare, but you know when they happened.

As ^^^ Are you getting a cold? Plenty going around...I have one
Me too and it`s a nasty fecker, I hope you don`t get it OP. I`ve been off my bike for 2 weeks now and off work for coming up a week. Normally I can shake off the lurgy in a couple of days, but not this one

Normal service almost resumed. Took the folder out and broke the cheap thumb shifters, so going to fit a retro twist grip shifter.
