I have a fair few, i'll share some. Whether or not they are explainable or not, i suppose they could be.

1. This is an account from both of my parents, from some 30 odd years ago.

Staying up on the Scottish borders at my Uncles house, which is an old detached farm house, in a fairly sparsely populated area not far from Kelso. One night, my dad was awoken to a rattling noise. It was pitch black, no street lights etc... The rattling got more and more ferocious. At this point he was out of bed and was scrambling for the light switch and my mom was awoken by now asking what the noise and fuss was. Finally, my dad found the switch and the moment he flicked it, the rattle stopped and the dresser at the other side of the room was perfumes and the wobble of the bottles were still visible but that was all, nobody there. Maybe a tremor or mild quake? None were recorded in the area and nothing else was moving such as the light shade in the ceiling etc...

2. More personal to me, but after my Nan died after suffering with Alzheimer's for a while before, i was awoken in my bed. I sleep on my side or front mostly with my arms tucked under my pillow. I felt a definite hand stroking on my back. Gently and softly even familiarly. I turned my head expecting to see somebody, but nobody was present and at that moment i felt a waft and i felt "it" leave. It was winter time and no windows were open and it was a fairly new house at the time. Many explanations, i know. But a few days later after catching up with my sister, i mentioned it and i was amazed to hear that she had the exact same thing happen to her on the same night and to be clear she lived in a different house. The story gets stranger or more coincidental, whichever way your persuasions fall but my Nan's older sister lived many thousands of miles away in Australia at the time. Just 6 hours before he younger sister died, she said to her son that she must go now and she died. She was of sound mind.

3. Is an account of my friend. Which had a remarkable similarity to yours. One night, my friend was awoken to his then Girlfriend screaming. At the foot of the bed was my friends Dad. Who had just recently died over 200 miles away, unexpectedly and suddenly in a hotel room. After my friend woke up, stunned of course and unable to say anything. His dad or whatever figure it was just seemed to just fade away. They both saw it and swear by it.

It frightens people to admit it i think, but i have many more things that has happened to me and people around me. Im not a "ghost hunter" or have any real interest in it. I just have experiences and accounts. Im open to logical suggestions always have been but not a lot explanations have left me satisfied.

These aren’t unexplained. They’re all explained by a mind that is either in a state of delirium or a state of m accute heightened awareness often due to fear. The brain has evolved an exceptionally sharp threat detection system where in times of stress, false positives are seen as acceptable. Faces in the woods, bumps in the dark, movements in the shadows. We’ve evolved a threat detection that allows false positives as it’s proved safer for us to “see” lots of things that aren’t there rather than miss something that is there.

We also have brains that can accept the irrational in states of sleep, tiredness or hypnosis. That’s why religious services put us into such trances either hypnotic inducing religion (see various religions prayers of chanting, prayer, repetitive movement ) or euphoria (again see religious high Adrenalin singing). All designed to put us into a semi hypotonic state where we’re more inclined to accept the irrational. Naturally this also occurs close to sleep.

Nothing ghostly but a mate and I saw a UFO years ago.

Stood outside at night looking over a valley we both saw a single point light source in the sky moving very fast with seemingly instant accelerations / decelerations and clean, perfect 90 degree turns.

No idea what it was, but what it wasn't was any conventional man-made aircraft.

Sometimes I'll have a dream about someone and ill wake up the next day to discover theyve died. Twice thats happened now. The more recent one disturbed me so much I tracked his sister down (I hadn't seen him in a few years and had lost contact) and she confirmed hed died of motor neurone disease the night i had my dream.

We were on our way to a small caravan site just north of the A66, after we turned off the A66 onto a B road with woods either side, driving past a clearing/lay-by we saw a horse drawn gypsy caravan and were talking about it with the kids, this is when my son said Oh I've been here before, we hadn't been there before, but he said, not with you, with my other mum & dad, & my 2 sisters and little brother, then it was gone, as quickly as he'd said it. also both of the kids said they saw their Great Gran the night after she'd died, as if she'd come to see them one last time

Personally I don't believe but have two experiences that make you think..
First, my wife's was when she was sitting with a neighbour whose mum was in the process of passing away. As she passed, within a minute or so, their dog started whining pitifully and then started staring at the ceiling above the now dead mum, howling pitifully. The daughter thought the dog was somehow signalling the spirit of her mum leaving the body
Logically, the dog either sensed the death or sensed the sadness in the daughter /my wife...and howling would probably be the outcome, looking at the ceiling above the dead mum..,well dogs raise their heads when howling surely. Still..,,

Second was mine and my wife's. My dad had passed the day before, we were fairly in a state of shock and great sadness. We were sitting in the kitchen next to each other, one of those moments when you look at each other...and burst out crying. As we did, a photo of dad next to us slammed down on its face...stopping us dead in our tracks. It was truly shocking in that moment... I stood the photo back up and tried to recreate a situation where it would fall down. I couldn't. Weird.

Non-believer in the afterlife, here, but...

... in 1992 shortly after my mum died I was MTBing up a very steep and muddy slope in some local woods when I had to dismount near the top due to clogged tyres and the inevitable wheelspin.

As I got to the top and whilst catching my breath my recently deceased mum was standing there just looking at me. She was wearing the dress she wore to my first wedding. I shook my head and shut my eyes and she was still there when I opened them again. Then, she simply faded away.

My theory, post-death stress of my mum's demise caused an hallucination.

Or maybe...

Not me but my dad. Him and partner were lying in bed one night when my dad could strongly smell a particular brand of pipe tobacco and he was wandering around his bungalow trying to find a source for ages. Meanwhile 50 miles away his brother , who smoked that brand in his pipe for years , had died.

What fear? When my father-in-law appeared at the end of my bed, I was asleep. I had nothing going on that I feared.

When one is asleep why would there be any kind of a "false positive." And when a loud rattling occurs which wakes two people up, as another member told, how is that seeing things which aren't there?

Around sleep you’re in a state of delirium. Your mind in all over the place. And if awake suddenly then your brain is scrambling around for why and will be primed to seek out any reason which will heighten false positives.

This is not fear. But fear is another. It could be as mild as walking in dark woods and not wanting to trip. The brain see faces, hears noises and sees things constantly. Fear and stress heightens it but it’s there all The time. An unexpected noise can give a shot of adrenaline. This gets the body in a state of readiness. The body does not know what for. Your conscious mind might not be in fear. But your body is primed and ready for action. And this is when you’d be acutely aware and false positives creep in.

The military jets from Mildenhall are often in our Norfolk Sky. A few weeks ago, I was watching one through binoculars - It appeared to do a perfect (and very tight and fast ) 90 degree turn - it was most impressive!

Delirium is a serious and sudden change in mental abilities, leading to confusion, disorientation, and difficulty focusing. It often occurs due to medical conditions, medications, or environmental stressors, and can fluctuate in intensity.

None of this applied to me. I wasn't unbalanced or delirious in any way. I had no problems in my life. I wasn't under stress. When two or more people experience the same phenomenon at the same time, are they both delirious? Sorry, but your explanation doesn't fit.

You get pretty delirious when someone mentions Ebikes.😉
