I was commuting home a few days ago and a van overtook me. Nothing out of the ordinary, the pass wasnt close or exceptional.
However, the passenger did shout something at me.

At the time I thought it was "w*nker" however, I have just reviewed the footage and it now seems like he said "Good pass". Bit difficult to tell at the speed he passed me but it is one of the oddest things I have been shouted.
I can only presume the guy had seen my 'Patience' videos and thought that he wanted a bit of the action.

For the record: The overtake was good. Although it was over double whites but I wasnt in primary due to the speed of the traffic being a bit dodgy.

You get all sorts.

Of the more pleasant things :-

I've had 'magicshine' shouted at me from a sports car - he'd seen my magicshine rear lights (not that you can miss them).
"Wow what lights are those" from a guy in an Audi A4 - pulled up, wound window down - I thought he was about to have 'a go'.

"Wow 30 mph" from a couple of chavs in a corsa - I was expecting something else !

Had all sorts of other stuff, "wheels are going round, banker, gay boy" etc. I usually just ignore or give the verbals back. Depends if the car is full of chavs. I've even had a guy lean out of a car and try and knock me off on a sunday morning - not much I could do on my best bike, road shoes, and 4 of them in the car.

Like said above I've experienced many shouts mostly daft (folk thinking they are original and funny) or derogatory, occasionally however, when I'm expecting the worst, it actually turns out to be a compliment. The one that springs to mind was when I thought I was holding up a car going down Morborne Hill, got to the bottom and it was a 'wow you were doing 40mph+ down there'

Can't recall anything unusual being shouted at me, but I've been wolf-whistled.

I once had 'run fatboy fun' shouted at me when I used to go running. Cheeky teenagers.

On a FNRttC, a few of us came across a 'fat boy' running along the pavement trying to keep up with us. He was a jolly fellow, probs a bit merry on the sauce. Of course we had to shout out 'run fatboy run' and 'run Forest'... I know it was naughty but the lad found it hilarious, so did we.

This would be odd if it were any other cyclist.

Lol, me and @Seamab were coming back from a ride once (I think I weighed 9.5st at the time and Seamab is similar) and these blokes in a car pulled up next to us and blurted out 'Fat Fecks' once home it clicked perhaps the were football fans shouting Falkirk

God,
If I listed all the things shouted at me, both good and bad over the years, I would have a list a mile long.

But had all the usual's. Wheels are going round, oi you're on a bike, gayboy, get out the effin way etc
Also plenty of good ones, good speed, nice bike, nice legs, nice bum

This thread is useless without pics?

I find you get a lot more insults/shouts when your running than cycling, also kids teenagers run along with you thinking there showing of to their mates, one of our group took exception to this and just stuck is fist in the obnoxious gits face, show over.

Its years since I heared the old classic "get off and milk it". Oddly the last time it was shouted at me I was running....

Having grown up attending tt's, do supporters still call Dig dig at riders ?
