Strange things you see people do on your commute

The strangest thing I see is the same people stuck in the same traffic jams in the same cars on the same road day after day with their sat navs switched on. What are they all hoping to learn from the gadgets in such circumstances?

They probably have traffic jam dodging GPS & are hoping it'll pull up a quicker route. (Un)fortunatly this doesn't work as the system is to get you around the smash up on M4 when you're sitting pretty on the M25 & heading to Swindon.

I have been travelling the same route into work for about 5 years and never fail to see a lady of senior years jogging towards me carrying a rope dog lead.

Never ever seen a dog. I even stopped once and waited for her to pass me.

Is it a quiet area? If so this could be some kind of personal safety ploy - giving the impression that there's a dog around, and a big one if it goes jogging.

Residential area of St Andrews, does not even rate as low crime area where the most heinous crime is the placement of traffic cones on the roof of cars (term time only).

Not a regular occurence, but i'm always amazed at the peds who will approach a pelican crossing....the road is completely empty...completely, and they will press the crossing button... and wait to cross the road.
Why ? has the H&S culture taken root so deep that a persons incapable of looking and making a decision for themselves ?

I was sitting at a red light when a ped waled past, pressed the button & carried on walking. No hesitation!

My commute takes me past a huge 6th form college. During term time, there's a girl who dresses in pink. I mean pink gingham checked dress, pink gloves up to her elbows, pink bonnet, pink sun shade, pink socks, pink shoes, pink bag etc.

Saw a bare bum bouncing up and down in a bush the other day on the way in...

..then back in july I was overtaken by a driver steering with his knees while he had both hands wrapped around a sandwich.

Part of my commute involves getting a train from Birmingham at about 7 in the morning.

Loaded my bike onto the train & stood waiting for it to move off. As the buzzers sounds to close the doors a bloke jumps on & drags a Raleigh road bike (circa 1975) onto the train.

He looks a bit bewildered with the hooks provided for the bikes, then reaches for his 'water bottle'...an open can of Tennents Super in his bottle holder. Necks it & puts his bike on the hook then wanders off to a seat.

Gutted he didn't offer me any

a guy in his car at the lights tucking into a bowl of cereal
student girl cycling holding brolly and wearing wellies in torrential rain, pants tucked in to wellies so all water going in them
Grungy/traveler type student girl with headphones in and no hands on the bars practicing her rave moves at 8am while crossing a junction

theres some more im sure...

The teenagers at the bus stop on a big hill near my old flat shouting 'Feel the burn!', 'Come on you can do it!' and/or singing the Rocky theme as I pedal up it then cheering when I hit the top, on more than one occasion.
