So as a newbie I have downloaded strava on android which is excellent. I have not yet went premium but I do plan to. What are the benefits of premium ??. And if anyone would like to leave their user names who are from the Glasgow area for me to find on the app

There was a thread discussing Strava Premium last year, see HERE, there are probably others as well via the Search box in the top right of each page

I thought there may be one but when I used the search no hits. That's for the link and information.

Eat, sleep, ride, repeat.
There is also a Cycle Chat group which you can join- this will enable you to scroll across to see what we're up to but won't fill your e-mail inbox with random peoples rides.

strava has a tendency to record weird happenings. don't upgrade to premium. try www.ridewithgps.com. much better more accurate and you can plan routes then ride them. very easy. if you get a bike holder hey presto a good cycling computer

Thanks I'll get on the site later check it out .

From Cambislang if I want a longish ride I will head up to East Kilbride then on and past Eaglesham wind farms to A77 and making my way back any old how. Just happy at moment with commuting and fair weather Sunday 20 milers

as I am new to cycling i'm happy with the commute but going to go a weekend run each week most likely the Sunday morning. I will probably start off the 20 mile mark so i can get a bit more fitness and stamina before going further afield. really enjoying having the bike though and leaving the car at home saving a fortune and also getting fitter which can only be a good thing. ^_^

Here's an enjoyable 40-ish mile loop out to the Black Hill transmitter and back.

Feel free to snoop around my profile for other rides - just be aware that there won't be any more in Glasgow for a while, since I'm moving this week.
