It's almost laughable the utter contempt newpapers have for the intelligence of their readers?

I last bought a newspaper 25 years ago (wasn't a regular buyer anyway), as I was sick of having massive attention grabbing headlines and, when found to be untrue, the retraction was a single paragraph at the bottom of page 19.

So now whenever I pass a newsagent and see people walking in and handing over money day in day out for that dross, I really start to think the contempt might have been justified.

Either way, I just think the 20p a day, £1.40 a week, £5.60 a month, £67.20 a year, or £1,680 for the 25 years I have not bought one is better off in my pocket, than lining the pockets of lying, manipulative, conniving scum that are journos and their bosses.

It's a bit more complicated than that...
Alternatively if you'd spent £1.40 a week on a Saturday broadsheet you'd have learnt something.

32 years ago, the sun cost 5p per day, 35p per week. I got it for the bingo.
