Drink prices at a ceilidh in the local village hall last New Year:
Pint = £1.25
any spirit = £1.15
any spirit + mixer = £1.25

And people have the cheek to say we're mean!

9 bottles of beer - 15quid

Inviting mates round for a drink and not have to be around idiots in the pub - priceless.

Conservative club Woodhall Spa weekend before last, pint of Mild and half of Cider £3.80.

For those going to Dalaman Airport, do not be shocked by a £5 for a small bottle of water or a coke.

3 bottles of beer the other day for a touch over 30eur. Three rather fine Mikkellers.

Hubby & I had a tot of single malt each in a pub in Struy, about 20 miles outside of Inverness, and it was £14 for 2 single gils of Scotch. It wasn't that good a brand. Never went back. In fact we went to Tesco the next day (Inverness is all tesco except for the town centre Morrisons) and bought a bottle of the same brand of scotch for £14.

I'm glad I don't drink :smile:

Soft drinks are worse than alcoholic drinks. The mark up is absolutely sickening!

The whole of Denmark.

Actually I was in Munich for a client who is happy for me to have a few beers on his tab. I fancied a single malt so I decided that would be taking the **** and had the cost put on my own tab. £26. Ouch.

You expect it in Denmark though...

Sydney was the real shock: one schooner of beer (which is a half pint) and one glass of wine: £14. I'd spent the previous two months in south east Asia, so this was quite an increase!
