IN THE MARITIME INDUSTRY WE ARE TRYING TO INTRODUCE LOWER CASE LETTERS IN EMAIL MESSAGES

I have to explain to younger brokers what Telex was, and although had almost ceased to be in daily use 15 years ago, old habits die hard (and the kids of today think they invented text speak !)

Coal delivery and rag & bone man carts, pulled through the London streets by horses. The rag & bone man used to ring a plaintive hand-bell...you could hear his slow approach: clang-clang (clip clop clip clop) clang-clang (clip clop clip clop).... repeat for three or four minutes....

Where's the screen? she asked

Took both daughters to the local museum last year where they have a telephone exchange set up, they were completely flummoxed by the old style phones with the numerical dials, brilliant.

I was talking to Charlotte Button of this forum the other day about things like this and despite the fact I'm only 6 years older than her, I could remember things she couldn't, purely because things had changed between the '80s and '90s!

That's just wrong!!
