Sudoku

I don't do them as I'm an old school crossword man but I'm going to attempt a hard one from today's Grauniad.
If I'm not back in an hour my brain may well have exploded.

I like the Killer Sudoku and have even bought the paperback collections of them that The Times puts out.

When I bought newspapers on a regular basis, I became very good at these and used to time myself each day but haven't done any in a while as I gave up buying papers. I may buy a book of them.

I'm still at it but getting stuck. My eyeballs are heating up.

Once bought a book of Extreme Sudoku.....only managed about 1 in 3 of them. The most severe test I subject myself to now is the "Very Hard" one in the Sunday Times....unless I make a silly clerical error, I can usually do it given time and peace and quiet.

I do the one in the Grauniad, most days, and usually finish it. Always on the paper copy, never online. Part of my daily test on the grey matter, to see if I'm getting senile, I suppose. If I remember, I'll time myself tonight (my wife has the paper at the mo') and report back

8½ minutes today. B)
Are we talking about the same Sudoku? I mean the one in the Guardian? I found today's quite easy, many times I've taken three or four times as long, even on the ones rated 'medium'.

Hate them. I can do them but am left with a feeling I've just wasted ten minutes writing one to nine many times.
