so took the plunge and picked up the Whyte Suffolk.
105 set but went for the hybrid disc brakes as the £100 saved can go to a new helmet, guards etc.
Rides surprisingly quickly and responsive although I only ride it to Waterloo.
Another surprise is that it's lighter than I thought it would be

I'm loving it. Not as quick off the block as the Diverge was and a bit more skitterish but once it gets moving, it's a breeze. Going to have to look at the gearing mind. Seems it needs indexing as there's a delay on 2-3 and 3-4 although is that a quirk of 105s compared with the rougher Sora?
Also a bit of run on the front derailleur

No doubt your shop offered a free six week checkup at which point the fear cables will have toned out and they can then reindex the gears.

Yep. There's also the dreaded where the hell is that squeak coming from that a new bike gets. Somewhere on the front wheel, I'll hunt it down...then look up Tek HY/RD adjusting ^_^
