I'll have a look and see if I can find video evidence, but I can assure you that I have seen it on several occasions and been shocked at how disconnected they seem to be from the horrors they are talking about.

PS I'm still looking, but I didn't take long to find this - read the first two comments.

People saying she was smiling is no more evidence than your original comment though.
I said that I was still looking for video evidence, but I would say that if you don't believe me, then you probably wouldn't believe video evidence either. Ask 50 people if they have ever seen examples of what I am talking about and see how many say 'yes' and how many say 'no'.

I tell you what ... Let's ask here on CycleChat!

Have any of you ever seen a TV newsreader reporting a very serious crime or tragedy, with a totally inappropriate look on his/her face?

It is the same kind of disconnection that a bank call centre employee showed when my sister reported the death of our mother when trying to close her account. The employee she spoke to repeatedly asked for our late mother to be brought to the phone.

I met up with a friend after not seeing him for a long time and he asked how my parents were. I told him that my dad had died 2 years earlier, just after my parents' 60th wedding anniversary. My mum had been in mourning for nearly 2 years, but was starting to cheer up.

He said "Oh, that's good. How's your dad?"

"He's still f***ing dead, Paul!"

Colin, no offence but why should I believe you? I don't know you. What you said was a bit of a slur on a professional group of people and backing it up with anecdotes from your own life, while mildly entertaining I suppose, doesn't make your assertions any more believable I'm afraid. Video would be much more convincing.

You don't have to believe him, move on with your life.

Holding a poll of what people think they might remember having seen at some point in a world saturated with infotainment is almost comically useless. You can have people positively, absolutely positively, 'remembering' almost anything.

Mr David Amess MP would agree,
...I now move on to the presenters. I do not know whether we have brilliant presenters. I would just say that I find it slightly annoying that when one or two female presenters—I do not know whether they have had too much Botox or something—are presenting the news on a very serious subject, they smile...

So who was responsible for the joke names in the news broadcast? Was is someone at the TV station?

Ah, well, the memory of a politician. We all know they are infallible. And yet he still does not give an example, just a rather sexist generalisation of his perception of female news readers

SO the airline is sueing the news company now. Racism and some other bs like that.
Well, they will have to get some money back i suppose from the 180+ law sues they are going to have on hand. Also the insurance company wont pay out if its pilot error which it seems to be so there is 30m+ down the loo.
