Went to Rome for the first time last week and we thoroughly enjoyed it, only 3 nights and way too short to see everything and we're not big on sightseeing, will want to go again.
This Summer is Portugal again with the inlaws, we bailed last year, same place, same villa as every year but MiLs 70th so have to go this year....that'll be quite a few times to Portugal over the years.
I'm actually jealous of those going to Germany I've been looking longingly at something along the lines of a two part fortnight there. Maybe a week doing the mountains and a week doing cities, 1 to 2 nights in each.

Oh and I'm determined that we'll have no Summer holiday in the near future and spend the money doing UK stuff spread over the whole school holidays instead. A day return to London only costs £50 for the 5 of us and it's impressive how many trips, shows, meals and activities you can take in for less than the 2 weeks in the sun would cost. Throw in a day pass for something like Reading festival so that we can take the younger two and thoroughly embarrass the eldest trying to be cool with his mates....yep that would amuse me...reckon I could go in full sad Dad get up(no 3BM, leave it, that's too easy it's not worth it)
