A good turnout for today's ride - many more people and we'd struggle to keep the group together. Here are the places and things we visited. I hope you enjoyed it and learnt something.

1. Police bollard and blue lamp - Belgravia police station (until 1993), Gerald Road (see photo above)
2. 'Penfold' hexagonal post box from 1866 (not 'pillar' box) - Cornwall Gardens.
3. Mile post - Kensington Gore.
4. KGB lamp post - South Audley Street.
5. Torch snuffers - Charles Street, W1.
6. Pineapples - Old Queen Street, SW1.
7. Wooden block paving - rear of County Hall.
8. Webb patent sewer gas lamp - Carting Lane.
9. K2 and K6 phone boxes - Carey Street.
10. Drinking fountain (Metropolitan Drinking Fountain and Cattle Trough Association) - Giltspur Street
11. Police box - Guildhall Yard
12. Canon bollard - St Helens Bishopsgate
13. May Pole - St Andrew Undershaft, St Mary Axe.
14. LHP valve and accumulator pump - Hooper Street.
15. Fire mark plate - Fournier Street, Spitalfields.
16. Early Street sign - Great James Street.
17. Coal Hole covers - Russell Square.

And added bonus - the urine deflector.

I bet you'll see pineapples everywhere from now on :-)

I'm hoping to run another ride on Sunday 7 July. However, this will depend on whether I have time to research and plan something suitable. At the moment, the likely theme is 'parks and gardens', however, I'll post a separate thread in a few days with all the details if it is going ahead.

Cheers

Sounds great. I can think of a few things you might have added/exchanged....
(There was absolutely no way I'd have joined you for this, I needed a lie-in....)

That was a terrific ride. I was so gobsmacked to learn about the maypole, I printed my photo of it when I got home and bored everyone at work with it and its story today.
It gives that area of the city with its skyscrapers a little touch of humanity.
I must’ve walked past it dozens of times in various lunch breaks.
So thank you @rb58.

Just to show I was paying attention three months ago:
literally across the road from my office I spotted a few days ago a LHP plate in Scrutton Street.
At lunchtime today, a couple of guys drinking outside the Fox pub across the road asked what I was photographing/looking at and thanks to @rb58 , I was able to tell them.
