A bunch of us will be setting off on our 'flattish seaside century' from Whalley half an hour after you.

I've only ridden over Holme Moss from Holme to Woodhead; never in the other direction. I did toy with the idea of riding to Woodhead and then turning round and coming straight back over the climb but I think I'll leave it until my climbing is better!

I usually do oldham-greenfield-digley dam-holme moss-woodhead-staleyvegas-home or variations on that theme. It's around 40 miles with two climbs to 1600ft and plenty of other little ones. Usually takes 3 1/2 hours ish, more with a brew in holmfirth.

Sounds like a good ride, though I wouldn't be keen on Woodhead itself - it's too busy. I'd probably take the B6105 to get off it ASAP.

Yep the devil's elbow definitely an option I excersize when i'm with others......

I'm out sunday, but it's a relatively flat ride for me. Holme Moss would pull my arm off at the moment

Apart from the CC seaside century ride, it is also the Cheshire Cat tomorrow so quite a few people who would have joined you are already booked up. Have a good 'un anyway!

Good do that. Ended up hooking up with me mate dave and rattled off the 46 miles in just under 3 1/2 hours, with a bloody fast ride back down the woodhead, through staley and ashton and back to failsworth in time to chill and watch the scotland-brazil game with a beer. Niche!
