sunrise ride, cafe for coffee and a sustaining pastry, coffee, rise up, the forces shall side with the people, seize the derry and toms roof garden for our command centre, overthrow and accept surrender of imperialist reactionaries, declare glorious republic, pineapple for all, bubbly

Sun is out here, which would be great if it wasn’t accompanied by howling wind. Again. Spent yesterday trying to find a comfortable setup with some clip on aero bars, but failed. Clearly, I am no longer capable of such contortions.

Nipped into city to pick up a couple of small drawer cabinets, going cheap. Now pondering a late trainer ride in lieu of any outdoors options.

Morning

'Pineapple republic'... hmm. We would need some large green houses.

Soggy with a bit of wind thrown in.
Shorty's back at curling. 2 second places in the team event bonspiels so far. Hoping she'll go 1 place up.

Say : 'Come on Shorty'.

Fed the feathered creatures now coffee.

Any chance of a Bonspiel this winter? I'll get my waders.

Pissistant rain over here. Coffee drunk, sing while we're winning guilty pleasure of MoTD watched. Might have to tinker with bikes in the garage.

Felt pants yesterday, so glad of the excuse of big rain to be lazy. At least I woke up feeling fewer pants than yesterday, and coffee should improve the outlook even more. The forecast sun after rain would be icing on the cherry on top.

Is there an Oktoberfest thing going on with the trumpet blowing down your way? My trumpet prodigy nephew seems to spend most of the month hiding his hose in the leder.

Not that I know of, but then I don't know much. Done two or three oompah gigs, got the Lederhosen, but must admit it's pure musical prostitution: the music is awful, the aim of getting everyone as drunk as possible not my thing, though the money's been good. I'd rather do Bach or Basie. I wonder if I've bumped into your prodigious nephew...

He's mostly to be found Oop north in the colliery brass band scene.
Yes, I think he'd agree on your comments about musical prostitution as he's a teetotaler, but it's a constant battle for funding.

Yeah, relying on gigging income alone means you've got to take everything offered - one reason I was happy to have the teaching gig so I could afford to turn my nose up at stuff I didn't want to do.

Ha, first thing I just saw on Facebook a moment ago was a friend of mine doing an Oktoberfest gig at Exeter Castle.

Morning Folks,

Slept well after yesterday's pedal and grape based rehydration. Sun's out here but not for long. Quick trip to the shops, couple of house related jobs and an overdue bike chain cleaning, then maybe a spot of sim racing if it's grim inside as forecast.

I hope you don’t live by the river as London is drowning.
