Damp but sunny here. Just found an soggy Amazon package at the side of the garage for the house at the back of it. Which you have to access by a lane 100 metres away, how do these drivers manage to keep their jobs.
Hopefully later will be a bike ride.

They are under so much pressure to deliver.
The DPD driver explained to me that they get personally deducted for late deliveries and £150 taken from their wages of they take a day off sick.
But people love their 'free postage'.

I'm assuming you've got Sram then SG, I learnt the hard way and always carry a spare now.

yes, original etap, i often take a spare front/rear mech battery, but this was the little button cell in the shifter, with three teeny screws on the cover

if i had the correct teeny screwdriver with me, i could've used the battery from hrm strap or speed sensor, but it's fiddly enough to do at home without dropping at least one of the screws

i've changed them twice before when an indicator has gone red, they're lasting over three years, but i just got out of the habit of checking, might set a reminder for 2028

hmm, might acquire a set, i got a spare rear mech after the high speed hanger snap last year, so levers and a front mech would give me full spares for as long as i'm likely to need them

11-speed cable stuff gets little attention from sram these days, but there's no way i'm going 12-speed hydraulic, too ugly, and it won't match my frame, wheels or fork, which are all just as i like them

The sram App keeps an eye on battery levels tbh. I tend to change after 12 months along with chains.

Made it to Brodick, trains etc. no problem, enjoyable ride from Glasgow to Troon, a lot of it on decent cycle tracks. Burger and beer to refuel.

Turned out quite nice round these parts, no traditional slow start this morning for me, was out early for a ride in the Surrey Hills with the old bike crowd. Managed just over 100k due to a small diversion and we finished at a tiny pub. Good fun, although my bike is fairly modern being only 40 years old. Another early starrt tomorrow as I'm into the office for a couple of days.
TLW can you do sim racing too, get an Xbox type thing and stick your feet in a bowl of cold water
