Thanks for organising last Sunday, enjoyed the ride. I can't make the next one but keep us posted for future rides. Nice to have a change of scenery.

forecast looks good, I'm in.

is it 9.30 at the station again?

Meet at the station (by the ticket barriers) at 0946. That's nicely in time for the 0923 Fast train from Kings Cross.
The 0906 Slow train from Kings Cross gets in a few minutes earlier, and that'll be handy if you're coming from Potters Bar, Hatfield, Welwyn etc.

OK, I'm thinking of the following route.
Stevenage station - Aston - Blue Hill - Idle Hill (I couldn't miss it with a name like that!!) - Burns Green - Benington - Walkern Hall - Clay End - Bassus Green - Walkern - Ardeley for tea and cakes.
There's a slightly rough section from Benington - Walkern Hall, about 1/4 mile. Doable on a road bike.
Route continues Ardeley - Cromer Windmill - Luffenhall - Halls Green - Warrens Green and back to Stevenage.
Distance about 25 miles.
I did most of this route a few weeks ago on a 63" geared SS and lived to tell the tale. There's a very steep 1/4 mile from Luffenhall which some people will walk. Me included, probably!!
As before, this will be at a sociable speed, and no-one gets dropped.
Meet at Stevenage Station, by the ticket barriers, at 0946 to meet the fast 0923 from Kings Cross.

It looks like someone's drive. Walkern Hall, I suspect.
You end up going past some big gaff and pop out onto the road by some farm buildings...

I was going to try and make tomorrows ride, but I'm not feeling very well and doubt I'd be up for a ride by tomorrow.

Hopefully you'll do some more in the summer

Anyone who fancies it can come!!

It's timed to meet a train at 0946, so there'll be a few minutes of cleated mayhem getting bikes through ticket barriers, sorting out who's who etc, but I'd expect to be away by 10 at the latest.

And to any lurkers - this isn't just CC members only. Come and join us
