Saw this thread title, and thought it was the daily one at first with an even more surreal twist.

Anyway, mostly lazing today after last night's concert, but will probably end up doing something on foot or wheel later, as it's another glorious day, currently 15C and going up to about 25C this afternoon. Very pleasant.

Coffee, obvs.

Morning all. Photonic 4am isn't that bad, I'm normally getting up then for work. Running in a local 10k just for fun. Bike fettling then as going on an away day bikepacking next wkend with both sons. Not sure how I got coerced into sorting there bikes out though. Weathers looking meh at the moment, could be worse as it could be full sun or chucking it down. Enjoy your day.

Woke up at 6.30, not sure why after yesterday's ride and G&T based rehydration, but there was no way I was getting out of bed that early on a weekend. So had a good doze after that.

A few jobs today as I reckon the cave needs a bit of a clean up. Will probably watch a bit of the F1 later on.

Italy packing today, managed to sway a night out at a mates as I knew it would be (and probably still is at 8am) messy.
Other than that, maybe some cookery.

I remember PJ O'Rourke describing living in New Hampshire as 6 months of winter followed by 6 months of getting ready for winter.
Sometimes feels like the same in Edinburgh, but these days 6 months of autumn.
Run completed, breakfast inhaled, now time for coffee.... before deciding which things in my garden could get blown away, and which items I'd be happy to have relocated several miles north east of here.

Morning

Shoot sleep. Got awoken at 4am as it poured. What a racket. Bit blowy and grey but set to ease and dry up later which is hopefully when i'll have a pedal.

Much much much coffee

Yeah, I know. Awakened at some unearthly hour again. Gotta stop this. Its becoming a habit.

Probably much coffees later. Might even go for a ride?

I used to be an expert sleeper (despite any nighttime loo trips), but the brain issue sometimes intervenes still since the bonce bump in 2018. A few times when the 3 or 4am proper wake-up happens, I stop being annoyed and read for an hour or two, until (hopefully) I feel sleepy again. Apparently it was a recognised habit in olden times... 'biphasal sleep'.

In my own case, I find it counter-productive to get annoyed by it (even though I do!), and so try to comfort myself that it used to be quite normal.

Anyway, hope you manage to get enough sleep one way or another!!

Alt stick in the earbuds and put on the Cycling Podcast or the like, switches the brain back off and back to sleep.

Which is what I needed overnight as could have a post procedural issue brewing, getting pressure pain and seeing bits of red. Sat / Sun is not the best time, if there is such a thing, for this to occur as I know the hospital team are M-F only. Feeling rel stable just now, will see how the day pans out.

What a cheerful post!

A bit on the damp side here so much club run cancelled. However forecast shows a lot of sun later on so a pedal might be possible. Left arm is still sore from shingles jab and looks bit inflamed

Sure there's not a connection?

Nice weekend really, mostly sunshine, some cool breeze but entirely bearable. Played with garden power gadgets various, gave the hydraulic wood splitter a run, and a minor chainsaw workout this morning on a tree getting too big for its, er, boots? That lot will be left to dry out in the paddock for a bonfire opportunity.
