I'd psychologically prepared myself for my 1st 20 miler, laid in bed for half an hour watching the weather and mentally planning the route.

So I got up, light breakfast, intravenous caffeine drip, spray on shorts on, tweaked bike seat for more of a sit bones postition than butt plug position AND RAIN.

Welcome to Britain.......I have to start getting ready for work at 12, and if its calm and rainy here it will be 20mph wind and monsoon on my intended route over them thar 'ills GGGGRRRRRRRRRRR

You shoulda gone out last night; it was breezy and cold but stayed dry and bracing! We did 22 miles around the Ribble Valley and came home happy and relaxed.

I was really tempted last night, I got off work an hour early and was home for 11pm, but as I arrived home I felt quite drained so decided on an early rise. pffft

LOL I know, only 33 years of crap summers.....

I was talking to an old guy I know the other day, he said to me "do you wear a cape for when it rains?" bless

Funnily enough I though I saw you out on the bike the other day
