They are, but they are devoting the year to cycling.

You are holding down a day job, and presumably are also taking care of family and other responsibilities.

If you were in a fully funded position to simply ride, I suspect you could also be on that planet.

I was thinking about SuperSuperLeeds this morning. My Garmin turned over the 13'000 mile mark this year on the way to work. The first thought I had was well done legs, second thought I had was "geez, that Leeds bloke was here sometime in August!"

I might scrape 21k, next year is going to be a lower year, probably go for 15-18k.
