I have seen a few shots on the forum, of a stand like gadget, to suppoprt a frame or bicycle off the ground to work on it.
Are these proprietory items or something people have cobbled together???

Thanks, that ceratainly looks very similar to what I have seen on the forum.
Are they any good, or if not, what would the recommendation be?

and find it totally invaluable. I was never able to properly work on bikes when they were on the ground and now i fettle almost every weekend...means all the bikes runs smooth and true.Mine has a QR clamp onn the business end.

I also have a bench mounted one for working at a seated level.

Cost me about £30 on amazon.

Me too, about the same price on eBay.
Great for every little job, including cleaning!

Comfy armchair to one person & a plank to the next
I've a £5 bike lift winch but that only works if you've a suitable ceiling for one.

Thanks to everyone who chipped in.
Which make and model is the preferred choice.
On E-Bay and Amazon, they seem to range from around £30 upwards
