I don't know if anyone is interested in this, but thought I'd throw it out there in case anyone was interested. I have a Garmin Edge 705 that I'd like to swap for a 500 - my interests have changed nowadays and lie more around racing than touring and I can't justify owning two expensive GPS devices at the moment. I bought it 2nd hand, but in a pristine condition and aside from a couple of bumps and scrapes that are not really visible, it's still in very good nick.
It doesn't have any retail maps, but comes complete with a 1Gb micro SD containing open source UK maps that I've found to be completely adequate when out and about on the roads - even when it comes down to working out routes on the fly if needs be. I've never used it offroad, but would imagine that the detail is a little bit lacking for anybody who wants to use the maps for trails and the like.
Let me know if you're interested and we'll see about sorting something out. Obviously someone local for a face to face swap would be perfect, but I'm happy to arrange something via post if needs be.
