As a cost saving measure our Force closed every canteen at every station except by some utter coincidence the one opposite the Chief Constables office. It seems the money was available !e to keep that particular one going.

Anyway, I digress. No sooner did these canteens close than a Costalot coffee was opened one the same site as the Chiefs Office. You you're doing well in life (or you've seriously pithed someone off) when Costalot open a branch just for you.

Chain store coffee is generally cack, with Starbucks being undrinkable shite, but far too many independents think that just because they've got an espresso machine they can make good coffee, or they're just going along with the trend and really ought to stick to making a nice pot of tea.

You need to find a shop run by proper hipsters, the higher the beard and tattoo quotient the better. They'll bore you shitless talking about it but they know their coffee. Upshot on Glossop Road is the best in Sheffield

Mostly yes you're right, it's drinkable but nothing special. With the exception of Starbucks which is just awful.

That's a coffee shop near Pokesdown / Boscombe.

That's a proper Latte, from the Bar / restaurant in the building in which I live.

That's a mentally strong espresso at the Rapha CC in London.

They all beat 'chain' coffee into a cocked hat

If you want half decent coffee that doesn't cost the earth, there's always McDonalds...

Don't know what it's like in England, but the coffee served in 7-11 in Scandinavia is outstanding.
