I've been sick at home for over a week now, somewhere between man-flu and leprosy, unable to ride and passing in and out of delirium because of it.

Perhaps a cold knocks someone from Brighton off their saddle, but here in Far East Sussex we're made of sterner stuff. If this were merely a cold I'd hop on my bike right now, Ditchling Beacon a mild bump under my wheels, and challenge you to a duel.

Thanks for the votes so far. Without wishing to influence the outcome, I was rather looking forward to Tom Nuttall's moment of glory.

I probably haven't been enough of a regular here to get the full fun & friendly treatment… Anyway, despite the polling data being clear, I chose none of the above. Mustered sufficient life force to work on bikes instead, which was just what the doctor ordered.

In my part of east Sussex we don't consider a cold as man-flu or anything worthy of remark

Yeah, that's the only time he puts a saddle on his bike before riding the cobbles
