Sympathy with the traffic warden

Is it me or is it warm? I found myself feeling sorry for a traffic warden today. She was wearing a hi-viz jacket, a peaked hat, and was trudging around with a nearly empty bottle of water.

Going off topic a bit,i do feel for the police in their heavy heat attracting black (but supposed to be navy blue) uniforms in this heat. Those cargo pants look so thick and heavy,they must be very uncomfortable. I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest slightly above the knee shorts be allowed in these conditions. They'd also aid in running after and detaining felons.

Not if you make the effort to thank them. They often look shocked when I do this. If it wasn’t for them there would be nowhere to park.
