Following on from @Soltydog 's blue bike for a blue day thread.... I took the plunge and bought 2 lots of blue bar tape and did both mine and Mrs V's bike...... She had been pestering me to do her bars blue for a while and thought it wouldn't be worth the hassle if I did mine and not hers.....

What do reckon @ianrauk

Blue tyres next maybe (on the Giant) but the white ones are only a month old..... and lucky I ordered it Saturday because after I saw Kittel's yellow jersey black Giant on Sunday I might have gone yellow because that looked fab (but i would have needed yellow tyres as well straight away)

Cheers Ian, it went on fine... I used the 'cheat strips' behind the hoods on mine and it looks good, slightly wonky in places, nothing too bad though..... Laura's was a complete nightmare though no hoods to hide anything iffy and suicide levers which meant I had to unravel the roll to go between them.....

Looks good buddy :becool: Blue tyres would look a treat too
I've been running these http://www.fawkes-cycles.co.uk/1963...-lithion2-folding-tyre-700-x-23c-in-blue.aspx for last 2 years & have been as good as any others (inc more expensive ones)
Wooohhhh they're a serious bargain at that!!!!!! yes blue will go on it eventually (unless the bar tapes worn by then and I go for a new colour scheme altogether) I normally fit coloured Schalbe's at tenner a time from the LBS but I only fitted the Fulcrums complete with new tyres a month ago (and I've got the old wheels with tyres I put on in December) So yes it would fab but I'll save my dosh for other goodies....

..a long way from somewhere called Home..
.............might need to do a bit of a bodge job for the suicide levers

i was told it would be nigh impossible to thread the hoods [ with a small access hole cut on the inside to accommodate the lever boss IYSWIM ] along the dual levers and then have enough flexibility to push the hoods over the brake body

so didnt try

i presume cotton tape..?
can you post/send me a close-up of the route round the brake body
i tried for ages yesterday and still cannot cover the clamping clip completely

i bought Tressostar cotton tape which has zero stretch
[mine is over a bed of cork tape as a concession to my Dupuytren's contracture]

thanks...john
PS.. if you rotate Laura's bars about 15deg - she will be able to ride the 'tops' running down to the brakes too

Its stretchy foam/cork tape from wiggle route round bars is exactly as you have it @John the Canuck .... and when I looked at the photo I thought her bars looked a bit down.... never noticed it before even though shes had it 12 months...but she's never complained but might suggest it.....
