TA tevano crank

I have just bought a Raleigh Clubman mixte to clean up for my wife. Everything going well until I tried to use my crank puller.

The Tevano crank seems to have a different thread for removal - is it 23mm? I have seen some internet sources saying it is and others saying "why use 23mm when you need a TA puller"

Usual is 22m, TA is 23mm and Stronglight 23.2/23.35mm

Does your crank puller just fit inside the TA threads?

Yes, just fits but doesn't tighten.
I don't think that I have to remove the cranks - bottom bracket (Tange) turns very smoothly, no noises or anything - just me being anal about stripping down the frame completely for thorough clean and to have a look at bottom bracket/clean and re-grease.
