With you now. What is the engine in that, and how heavy is the car in modified spec ?
I'm interested as I've been offered a 6R engine which weighs in at about 75kg with all the ancilaries (and box) and produces about 100 bhp at the wheel. I thought of a smart car, but they are tall, and still quite pricey for what they are.

Stock is an 1108cc 8v N/A 4 pot engine. However mine is a turboed 1242cc 8v. It's fully wet weight is 615kg with my & my OH as a co-driver. It's worth mentioning that I use a reduce sized fuel tank which holds a bit over 11l of fuel, which gives me around 20-30 miles of flat-out driving (more than enough for hill climbs, sprints, auto tests, etc.) rather than the full sized 38l tank

Yeah, it's a great little car. Certainly shocked/confused a few people on track days... when it out-accelerates a 911 (997) Carrera S.

I only work about 4 miles from Prestcott. they have had some great stuff up there in the past, and they now normally have a Veyron do the hill on one oftheir events (as the course is actually owned by the Bugatti owners club. Some amazing stuff goes up there as well as ex F1 cars from the 60's, 70's, and 80's

350bhp @ 1100 ain't shabby at all, even if it is for a 13 tonn vehicle.

Possibly, not sure. It looks similar to this one but lower & the wheel arches have been flared around 20-25mm on each wheel.

I noticed yesterday that if you're driving in high winds and the bike on the rack on the back of your car is lifting occasionally then folk don't tailgate for very long...

I've tried drafting (not nec the same as tailgating 
) pedestrians on the high street, in order to get from shop to shop more efficiently, but most tend to look at me oddly and tell me to get lost, not accepting my offer to take my turn on the front.

You do need to be careful of tailpipe emissions of the pedestrian in front when doing this.
