When booking a ticket to Marseille I failed to realise the return I had booked is the new direct service from Marseille all the way to London. Wish I hadn't now, it takes the same amount of time, and this only allows dismantled, bagged bikes under 85cm as part of normal luggage allowance. (Although does also save £25 each way not using registered luggage service).

Does anyone have experience of fitting a bike in a bike bag under 85cm? A forum post I've read says it's possible with this -- http://www.amazon.co.uk/Avenir-ACB9...=UTF8&qid=1436116065&sr=1-5&keywords=bike+bag

..squashed and compressed as much as possible with bungee cords.

I'm also trying to imagine carrying this on one shoulder, and two pannier bags on the other (I'm petite and female) between stations. Not to mention reassembling it but that will be another story.

Any advice, experience in this matter would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
