Oh, ok, thanks. To be honest I'd rather fiddle off a hedgehog into a policeman's helmet than spend a single second on Moneysuperfarkingmarket.com

I understand how you feel but it is, quite literally, your business to know.

Everything is a huge fecking pain, and everything is stacked in the odds of the richest companies - but that's the environment we choose to operate in.

Sadly, the lawless parts of the world are even more harsh to small business.

Just a fwiw. I've two kids supporting their studies by working in retail - they'd heard nothing. And a family member working full time in retail - ditto. So much for corporate training and standards.

Mind you, that's not a surprise - they're all working with "big boys". Companies (including Halfords) big enough to take the hit and not notice; to use their muscle with suppliers; to "arrange their tax affairs" like the googles and starbucks; etc.

Something tells me this is just the kind of measure that gets slipped through very, very quietly and discreetly --- and just HAMMERS the small guys. But then I'm a cynical old curmudgeon.

As in the Gov' has an absolute downer on small businesses for some inexplicable reason?

Cos they're a lot of administrative grief for little taxable return, and they don't lend Villas to MPs, give away free tickets to sporting fixtures, or pay £5000 a day in consultancy fees.
